Recently, we’ve had another famous face use our StrideOn knee walker while recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture.
 
Here, Oliver Price, a British actor and social media influencer, tells us his story:
 
My name is Oliver Price, I’m 52 years old and work in the TV/Film Industry. Life-surprises always happen when you least expect it and, sure enough, 8 days into a two-week Caribbean holiday, playing around on the beach, I ruptured my Achilles tendon.
 
As soon as I returned home a week later, I booked in to see Mr. Sam Singh, one of the top foot and ankle specialists in the UK. I had surgery the next day and knew it would be a very long recovery period. Sam said I’d be on crutches for two weeks with no weight bearing whatsoever on my foot. This, in theory, sounds easy, but in practice, it is far from it! He suggested I seek out StrideOn (due to the quality of the Knee walkers and the ease of delivery) and hire a kneeling scooter, something I’d never heard of.
 
I looked at their products on the website and ordered a model that was slim enough to manoeuvre inside but also suitable for outside use (I saw they do a more rugged outdoor focused model too) and honestly during those terrible two weeks, the knee walker was a Godsend, I was straight back in the gym, and wheeling around Tesco pushing my trolley, it really gave me my life back and everywhere I wheeled, people were both amazed and impressed in equal measure - I can’t recommend it enough!
 
It was such a useful device, I kept it for a total of 6 weeks, even as I transitioned to full weight-bearing again. The service from StrideOn was excellent, with next business day delivery as standard and such a straightforward return system. It came with a pre-paid return label, and all that was needed from me was to email their customer services with a convenient day for collection… put the knee walker back in the box and put the label on. The courier then came on the allotted day and collected from my front door – Easy!
