Here's her story, in her own words, and how our mobility aid made a huge difference to her life.
The Accident
"I broke my ankle slipping in the rain while playing golf at the beginning of July. Unfortunately, the injury was severe enough to require surgery. After the operation, I was told I would need to be non-weight bearing for four weeks. I honestly don’t know how I would have managed without the StrideOn knee walker during this time.”
The Timing Couldn't Have Been Worse
“The timing of my accident couldn’t have been worse. My husband was also recovering from hip replacement surgery, which he’d had just the week before, and I am the Lady Captain at my golf club. We were both in recovery, and managing even the simplest tasks seemed impossible. That’s when I hired the StrideOn knee walker, which came highly recommended by a friend, and I never looked back.”
Life-Saving Freedom and Mobility
"The difference it made having the knee walker was unbelievable. Without it, I couldn’t even carry a cup of coffee from one room to the next, and neither could my husband as he was on crutches too. The knee walker honestly saved my sanity by giving me the freedom and ability to move around the house. It helped me get to the bathroom, the kitchen, and every other part of the house. It was so easy to manoeuvre with its amazing turning circle, and it gave me a sense of independence that was invaluable during recovery.”
Mental Well-Being Boost
“Using the StrideOn knee walker was also a huge help for my mental well-being. I didn’t feel as helpless as I would have with crutches alone. I found using crutches exhausting and unstable, even though I’m quite fit. The knee walker, on the other hand, was easy to use and allowed me to ‘whizz’ about, doing things I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise. I really can’t stop singing your praises!”
Attending Important Events
“One of the most special moments during my recovery was being able to attend the Autumn Meeting Prize Giving at my golf club. Being Lady Captain, it meant the world to me to present the prizes to the ladies, and it meant a lot to them as well. Without the knee walker, I would have missed out on this special occasion.”

“I’m so eager to spread the word about StrideOn because so many people don’t even know that knee walkers exist, including the physios at the hospital where I was treated. I recently recommended the knee walker to a friend of mine who broke her ankle a few weeks after me, and she hired one after hearing my story. She called it a ‘life saver,’ and I agree!”
